Holy Moley! I've been sitting here for days and nights reading all of your mail thinking I should just go ahead and try putting a query in. Then here come my ex's surname, which also happens to be the name of my children and grandchildren. I am searching for:
Alphonse D'Amico & wife Antonia Volpe both b. abt 1860 near Salerno, Italy. There were several children whom most migrated to Syracuse, NY. My former's father was Giacomo "Jacob" D'Amico b. Sep 22, 1878 in Matonti?, Salerno, Italy. He m. Catherine Aloi Jan 20, 1901 in Syracuse. Catherine was b. Jan 30, 1882 in Spadafore, Messina?, Sicily. Her Parents were Stefano & Maria Anastasi Aloi. Both were b. abt 1845 Spadafore, Messina, Sicily & both d. early 1900's in Syracuse. Is there anyone on the line that can help me. Unfortunately the family here knows very little about the family before they migrated. One son Anthony D'Amico d. abt 1919 in WW1 in Sardina, Italy. Is there some way I could get his war record to help me hone into this family better? All help most gratefully appreciated.
Thanking you in advance, Jo Ann Damico Giles
