I have a few Bommarito folks - these came from Terrasini, (Palermo Province), and ended up in Detroit.
Some married with the Tocco family.
I have:
Antonio B. born c1870 m. Anna Trontiero
Salvatore B. born c1880 m. Anoinetta Giello? - they had a daughter named
Elizabeth born c1907; she married Salvatore Tocco
Ninfa B. born c1882 m. Gaetano Toocco
Salvatore and Ninfa and a Francesco B. were all siblings.
I have more on the Tocco family.
I'd be interested in anything on this Bommarito family.
My main lines are DeLisi, Bonanno, Passarello, Finazzo, Marchese, Porcasi, Barone, Favazza, and many more.
Regards,
Don

I have a Giuseppe Scafidi married to a Francesca; they would have been born about 1900 in Palermo Province. Their daughter was Rosa Scafidi born April 2, 1937 and she married Nunzio Barone (1935). I have more on their children all the way to today. Please let me know if you think these are your Scafidi/Scaffidi.
Thanks,
Don

... I was delighted to see your post tp ITA-SICILY-L; I have, from Partinico and nearby, Cammarata, DiTrapani, Ficarotta, LoGiudice, Nobile, Polizzi, Saputo and Vitale surnames. This means I would be astounded if we did not have some connections!
I will send you a longer email tonight - actually at 2 or 3 in the morning.
For now let me say my main surnames include DeLisi, Marchese, Finazzo, Bonanno, Scarcella, Porcasi, Asaro, Barone, LiBrizzi, Silaco, Accetta, Ventimiglia, Favazza and many others. They are from Trappeto (Balestrade), Partinico, Cinisi, Carini, Terrasini, Alcamo, Santa Ninfa, Palermo etc etc. - all, as you probably know, are quite close together, My closest relatives settled in the Detroit area, Gloucester, St Louis, San Pedro, CA, Monterey and Pittsburg, CA and elsewhere. We are retired now and live in the extreme NW corner of Montana where winter is just around the corner.
More later,
pls send me more about your names - thanks and ciao,
Don

Hello Donna,
I am just starting to look into my Sicilians and do not have anything for you yet. Pls keep in touch and let me know all the associated surnames and any dates/places associated with them. I will let you know when I find something.
Randazzo and Carini are super with my family; and Licari sounds familiar too.
My surnames are (mostly) DeLisi, Bonanno, Marchese, Porcasi, Barone, Lucido, Favazza, Vintimiglia, Finazzo, Vitale, Scarcella, Di Maggio, Randazzo, Messina, Asaro and many more.
The areas are all close together - in Palermo Province, Trappeto, Carini, Cinisi, Terrasini, Partinico etc and in Trapani Province we have Santa Ninfa, Alcamo, Castellamare del Golfo.
Thank you,
Don

Hello Nancy,
I saw your email to ITA-SICILY-L.
I suspect the original name you are researching was Nunzio Bonanno; try using that spelling in your searches. I have some Bonanno family and they were from the Alcamo and Castellamare del Golfo area. I will keep watch for your Nunzio.
My Grandmother was Angela Bonanno born in Alcamo; married Salvatore DeLisi of Santa Ninfa.
Good luck,
Don
