Subject: [{ITA-SICILY-L}] DE LEONARDIS

John De Leonardis, occupation Bookbinder, born Sicily (possibly Acireale, Catania) about 1847, emigrated to US about 1863, was naturalized while living at 171 Elm Street, NYC in 1873, married Catherine 'Kate' Nelligan

about 1874-1875, was living at 254 S. 1st street, Brooklyn in 1875, and died at 148 Keap St, Ward 15, Brooklyn on 2/5/1890. The couple had at least one child, my GM, Catherine Antoinette De Leonardis, but I suspect there

was at least one older brother. The family supposedly made a return trip to Europe (probably Sicily) prior to John's death. Any tie-ins to this family in Sicily or Brooklyn greatly appreciated.

Regards, Joe

Subject: [{ITA-SICILY-L}] Research in Acireale

I have not noted anyone looking for ancestors in Acireale, Catania Province. My latest information is that there is a good chance my GGF John De Leonardis came from Acireale. I'm waiting for Bianca to come up with additional information, but in the meantime, I thought I'd send my annual message to the list.

Regards, Joe

Subject: De Leonardis Missing

My entry for John De Leonardis seems to have fallen off the listing.
