Subject: Surname search;
Ciliberto, Demma, Caruso

Hi,
I'm searching for my half-brother's relatives.  His name was Sebastiano Ciliberto - killed at Luzon in the Phillipines during WWII.  His father, I believe was "Sam" Ciliberto, a coal miner in Follansbee, WV in the 40's.

I'm the daughter of Maria Demma born in Chicago in 1905, daughter of Fabiano Demma and Anna Caruso Demma.  They were from Termini Imerese Provencia Di Palermo, Sicily.

I was adopted and have just recently found my half-sisters and am now on the hunt for any relatives of my father.

Please help me if you know anything you think would help me in my search.  Thanks.

Cathy Billie

Subject: Re: [{ITA-SICILY-L}] Anyone with family in Terrasini, Palermo, Sicily?

I have family from Termini Imerese, Palermo, Sicily who emigrated to the US sometime prior to 1905.  (My mother, Maria Demma was born in 1905 in Chicago, IL). My grandfather's name was Fabiano Demma who married Anna Caruso, I believe in Italy although not sure.  I was adopted in 1942 and for the last two years I've been trying to find family. Any help you can give would be much appreciated.

My grandfather Fabiano Demma and his wife Anna Caruso Demma were from Termini Imerese. They emigrated to the US at some point and my mother was born in 1905 in the US. Perhaps Fabiano and Anna might be in your records?

Any help you could give is much appreciated.

Subject: [{ITA-SICILY-L}] Re: So did my grandparents in W.Va. but can't find them on census

... My father, Sam Ciliberto worked in the coal mines near Follansbee, WV in the early 1940's. I haven't been able to find him either. He had a son Sebastiano who was killed at Luzon. I realize that Ciliberto is not a name you seem to be researching, but wondered if your grandparents might have lived in Northern Panhandle of WV or had heard of Sam (not sure, but first name could have been Salvatore) Ciliberto in the mines.

Thanks for any light you could shed on this.
