MRS FILOMENA IZIDORIO

Native of St. Michael’s, Azores. Had lived in Fall River for past 43 years.

Mrs. Filomena (Souza) Izidorio, widow of Guilhermo Izidorio, and a resident of this city for 43 years died this morning, Jan. 13, 1937 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Maria Rodrigues, 57 Langley Street, after a short illness. Mrs Izidorio was born in Sao Vicente, St Michaels, Azores. She had lived in the North End during her residence in this city.

Surviving, besides her daughter, are two sons Vincent and Joseph Izidorio and 10 grandchildren. Her funeral will take place Friday from the home of Mrs. Rodrigues. A high mass of requiem will be celebrated at 9 at St. Michael’s Church. Interment will be Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River , Mass.

The funeral of Mrs. Filomena (Souza) Izidorio widow of Guilhermo Izidorio, was held this morning from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Rodrigues of Langley Street, with a high mass of requiem in St Michael’s Church at 9. The Rev. Joseph B. Amaral celebrated the mass. The bearers were Jose, William, Vincent, Frank and Jose Izidorio with interment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River, Mass.

MRS. MANUEL ISIDORIO

TAUNTON, MASS...Anna (Emmett) Isidorio, 85 of 32 Tremont St, widow of Manuel Isidorio, was pronounced dead on arrival Wednesday night, Dec. 25, 1974 at Morton Hospital. She was taken to the hospital at 10:55 p.m. from the home of a daughter, Mrs. Francis (Doris) Soitos of 58 Orchard St. Death was attributed to a coronary by Associate Medical Examiner Theodore R.Thayer.

Mrs. Isidorio who had been in poor health for the past six months, was born in Fall River, daughter of the late James and Marie (Desmaris) Emmett and came to Taunton in 1938.

She had worked in various factories for many years. Her last place of employment was Swank Inc. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church.

Surviving are one son, Joseph of this city; five daughters, Mrs. Wesley (Dolores) Grandmont and Mrs. Soitos of city, Mrs. Lillian Gazek of Bethel Conn., Mrs John (Irene) Gray of Los Angeles, Calif. and Mrs. Steve (Thelma) Barabas of Danbury, Conn.; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Medeiros of this city and Mrs. William (Mary) McGovern of St. Petersburg, Fla. and 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway at St. Mary's Square Saturday December 28 at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass St. Joseph's Church, Mass at 9:45, Internment; St Joseph Cemetery, Taunton, Mass. Readings were offered by James Isidorio, a grandson, and gifts by Mrs. Francine Aloisa and Kevin Grandmont.

Relatives and friends invited to attend, calling Hours Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9

FALL RIVER, MASS-----Passed away in a local hospital Jan 30, 1933. Manuel Isadorio beloved husband of Anna Isadorio, aged 43 years.

Funeral will take place Tuesday morning from 19 MonteStreet at 7:30 followed by a solemn high mass of requiem for the deposed of his soul at St. Mathews church, St. Mary street at 8:30. Interment at Notre Dame Cemetery.

The funeral of Manuel Isadorio was held today from his late home , 19 Monte Street, with services following in St Mathew’s church where a solemn high mass of requiem was celebrated by the Rev. George F. Cain, assisted by the Rev. Maurice Lamontague and Rev. Alphonse Gauthier, sub deacon. St. Michael’s society was represented by a deligation. There was a large number of floral tributes. Interment was in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River, Mass. The bearers were Manuel Camara, Manuel Costa, John Raposa, John Capeto, Manuel and John Silvia.

DEATH NOTICE ---- Died, in Taunton, January 11, 1937, James Emmett beloved husband of the late Mary (Demaras) , aged 71 years, 9 months , 12 days . Funeral on Wednesday January 13, at 8:15 followed by high mass at the Sacred Heart Church . Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

FUNERAL SERVICE----Funeral services for James Emmett, husband of the late Mary (Demaras) Emmett of 893 Somerset Avenue were held this morning at 8:15 followed by a high mass at the Sacred Heart church at 9 with the Rev. Thomas LaRoche, officiating. The bearers were George Nelson, Leo Medeiros, Arthur Marsden, Joseph, Frank, and Vincent Isadorio. Rev Arthur C. Lanaghan, had charge of the committal services at the grave in St Joseph’s Cemetery, Taunton, Mass. There was a large attendance of relatives and friends. Floral tributes were many and beautiful.

FRANCIS S. SOITOS
(husband of Ledora "Doris" Isidorio)

TAUNTON, MASS...Francis S. Soitos, 63, of 58 Orchard St. died Monday, Apr. 30, 1984 shortly after arrival at Morton Hospital, where he was transferred after being stricken while working around his yard. He was husband of Ledora "Doris" (Isidorio) Soitos.

Since 1945 he had been a carrier-technician with the U. S. Postal Service. During World War Two, he served in the Army as a first sergeant with Battery C, 212th Armored Field Artillery Battalion. After leaving the United States for Europe Feb. 10, 1944, he saw action in the Battles of Normandy, Ardennes, and Central Europe. He was awarded the Bronze Star.

He was a communicant of Sacred Hart Church. He was born in Taunton, MA son of Antone Sr. and Mary (Silva) Soitos.

Surviving, in addition to his widow , are a son, Stephen F. Soitos of Northampton, MA; a daughter, Mrs. William (Francine A.) Aloisa of Enfield, CT.; a brother Antone Soitos of Taunton ; a sister, Mrs. Ennsencio (Eileen) Coelho of Taunton; and two granddaughters, Devon Aloisa and Lauren Aloisa, both of Enfield, CT.

Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Taunton Mass.

JOSEPH ISIDORIO

TAUNTON, MASS...Joseph Isidorio, 74 of 103 Hart St. Taunton MA died Sunday, Feb. 16, 1986 at Morton Hospital, following a long illness. He had worked as an attendant at Taunton State Hospital for 18 years, retiring in 1977.

He was born and educated in Fall River, he was the son of the late Manuel and Anna (Emmett) Isidorio. He lived in Taunton for the past 45 years. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.

He leaves four sons, Joseph Isidorio, Jr. , Robert Isidorio, James Isidorio, and Manuel Isidorio, all of Taunton; five sisters, Mrs. Lillian Gazek of Danbury, CT., Mrs. Ledora Doris Soitos and Mrs. Delores Grandmont, both of Taunton, Mrs. Irene Gray of California, and Mrs. Thelma Barabas of CT; six grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.

Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton Mass.

YVONNE ISIDORIO

TAUNTON, MASS...Yvonne Isidorio, 65, of 8 columbus Ave. died suddenly Monday, Oct. 1, 1984 at her home. She was supervisor of the Dietary Department at Taunton State Hospital, having served in that post for 25 years.

Daughter of Florence (Reynolds) Pratt Dickinson of Taunton and the late Albert Pratt, she was born in Taunton and educated in Taunton schools. She attended St. Mary's Church.

Surviving, in addition to her mother, are four sons, Joseph Isidorio Jr., Robert Isidorio, James Isidorio and Manuel S. Isidorio, all of Taunton, a brother , Merle Pratt of Taunton, and six grandchildren

Interment in Mayflower Hill Cemetery Taunton Mass.

FRANK ISIDORIO

TAUNTON, MASS...Frank Isidorio of 235 Weir St. husband of Ida L. (Jones) Isidorio, died this morning, Jan. 17, 1967 at Morton Hospital after a long illness. He was 50. He had been a Taunton resident since 1938.

Born in Fall River, the son of Anna (Emmett) and the late Manuel Isidorio, he served with the army during World War Two and was employed for several years by The Foxboro Company.

In addition to his widow and mother, both of whom reside in Taunton, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Herman (Gale) Vieira, Mrs James (Muriel Joan) Weir and Donna Isidorio, all of Taunton; a brother, Joseph of Taunton ; five sisters, Mrs. Lillian Gazek of Bethel Conn. ; Mrs. Francis (Ledora) Soitos and Mrs. Wesley (Delores) Grandmont, both of Taunton; Mrs. John (Irene) Gray of Los Angeles Calif.; Mrs. Stephen Thelma) Barabas of Danbury, Conn. ; a grandson, a granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.

Burial is in St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton Mass.

IDA L. ISIDORIO MATTOS
Worked at the Foxboro Co.

LAKEVILLE, MASS... Ida L. (Jones) Isidorio Mattos, a former resident of Taunton, died Saturday, Feb 3, 2001 at the Island Terrace Nursing Home after an illness lasting two years. She was 82. She was born in Taunton and educated in Taunton Schools.

She was the wife of the late Frank Isidorio and the late Antone Mattos.

She worked at The Foxboro Company and the Robertson Curtain Factory in Taunton. She was also a housewife. She enjoyed music, dancing and crocheting.

She was the daughter of the late Hiram and Edna (Eaton) Jones and is survived by her companion of 18 years, Mr. Francis Wood of Pocasset, three daughters, M. Joan Carlson, Gale Ann Vieira, and Donna DeCosta, all of Taunton; three sisters, Muriel Rubadou of Somerset, Josephine McRoberts and Florence Golliff, both of Yarmouth; five brothers , Hiram Jones of Taunton, Kendall Jones, Robert Jones, John Jones, and Clifford Jones, all of Bourne; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Her memorial service will be held at United Memorial Methodist Church in Taunton at a later date. Arangements are by the Crapo-Hathaway funeral Home in Taunton. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery Taunton.

WESLEY H. GRANDMONT
husband of Dolores Isidorio

TAUNTON, MASS...Wesley Henri Gandmont, 57 of 46 Tremont Ave., husband of Dolores M. (Isidorio) Grandmont, died Tuesday, Jul. 23, 1985 at Morton Hospital following a long illness. Born and educated in Taunton, he was a son of late Louis and Alma (Cyr) Grandmont. He was a communicant of St. Paul's church.

Until 1975, he had owned and operated, for many years, Northeastern Road and Bridge Contractors. Prior to his death, he was the owner of the Wesley Grandmont Real Estate Co. in Taunton MA.

He was a radio man, first class, with the U.S. Navy while serving with World War Two.

In addition to his wife, he leaves two sons, Wesley H. Grandmont Jr., of Exeter, N. H. , and Kevin B. Grandmont of Sandown, N.H. a daughter, Deidre M. Grandmont of Taunton; three brothers , Alfred Grandmont of Taunton, Raymond Grandmont of New Jersey, and Roland Grandmont of Las Vegas , Nev.; a sister, Mrs. Louis (Lillian) Osenkowski of Taunton; three grandchildren; and several neices and nephews.

Interment is in St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton Mass.

JOHN GRAY

LOS ANGELES, CA...John ("Bunny") Gray, 61 formally of Taunton and North Dighton, MA died suddenly Sunday, Feb. 21, 1982 at his home in Los Angeles, Calif. He was the husband of Irene (Isidorio) Gray. Employed by Occidental College in Los Angeles, he had moved to California 22 years ago.

While residing in this area, he had been employed as a custodian for the Dighton Public schools, had served on the Dighton School committee and was a member of the Dighton Police Department.

Born in Taunton, he was the son of Mrs. Emily Gray of Taunton and the late Charles Gray.

Surviving, in addition to his widow and mother, are a son, John Gray Jr. of Los Angeles; a daughter, Vanessa Cruz of Los Angeles; two brothers, Charles Gray and David Gray, both of Taunton; three sisters, Irene Lopes of Raynham, Mary Ann Pine of North Dighton, and Margaret Lamb of Los Angeles; one grandchild, of Los Angeles; and several nephews and nieces.

IRENE (Isidorio) GRAY

FORMER NORTH DIGHTON RESIDENT

LOS ANGELES, CA ... Irene (Isisorio) Gray, a native of North Dighton, Mass., died Thursday, July 29, 1993, at Barlows Respiratory Hospital in Los Angeles after a short illness. She was 69.

Mrs. Gray had lived in Little Rock, CA for the past 33 years, but she was born in Fall River Mass and raised on Tremont St. in Taunton Mass. She was married to the late John Gray Sr.

Mrs. Gray was educated in Taunton Mass., schools and worked for many years as a forelady at Swank Inc in Taunton before she moved. She was the daughter of the late Manuel and Anna (Emmett) Isidorio.

Mrs. Gray is survived by a son , John Gray Jr. of Little Rock; a daughter, Vanessa Cruz of Victorville; three sisters, Doris Soitos , Thelma Barabas, and Dolores Grandmont of Taunton MA; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services and interment were in California.

FAIRFAX, VA...Lillian M. Gazek, 73, wife of the late Elmer F. Gazek, of 13471 Old Dairy Court, Henderson, Va. formerly of Milwaukee Ave, Bethel, died Thursday Oct 8, 1987, at the Fair Oakes Hospital, Fairfax, Va.

Mrs. Gazek was born in Fall River, Mass, April 16, 1914, daughter of the late Manuel and Anna Emmett Isidorio. She had been a Bethel area resident for more than 40 years, before moving to Virginia this past February. She was employed for 25 years by the Castro Convertible Company of Danbury. She was a member of St. Mary's Church of Bethel. She is survived by a son, Richard, with whom she made her home; four sisters, Doris Soitos, Thelma Barabas, Delores Grandmont , all of Taunton Ma., and Irene Gray of Juniper Hills, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St. Danbury, on Wednesday morning at 9:45, and to St. Mary's Church, Bethel at 10;30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Danbury.

Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.

ELMER GAZEK

BETHEL MAN DIES SHOVELING SNOW; FOURTH AREA VICTIM

DANBURY, CONN...Storm attributed deaths rose to four in the Danbury area when a 43-year old Bethel resident , Elmer F. Gazek of 39 Milwaukee Ave. apparently died as the result of a heart attack suffered while shoveling snow in front of his home late yesterday afternoon Dec. 16, 1960.

Three Earlier Deaths ---His death added to the toll taken by a vicious pre-winter storm that caused the deaths earlier this week of a 70 year- old resident, Stephen Fuchs. In Redding Center; 70 year old Louis Abdella of – Beaver St. Danbury, and 70 year old Mrs Margaret G. Roane, of 65 Main St., Newman. Gazek was pronounced dead by the medical examiner, Dr. Albert Trimpert.

He was a service manager at the Castro Convertible Corp. Danbury. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church and Pavia Council Knights of Columbus. He was a former president of the Father’s Club of Bethel.

Was Army Veteran--- Mr. Gazek was a World War II Army Veteran. He is survived by his wife, Mrs Lillian Gazek, and one son, Richard C. Gazek, both of Bethel. He is also survived by two brothers , Joseph Gazek of Danbury, and John Gazek of Newburgh, NY, and three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Stone, Mrs. Sabin Ollya, both of Danbury, and Mrs. Alfred Berguson of Southbury, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 9:30 o’clock from Cornelius Delury Memorial Funeral Home, and from St. Mary’s Church, Bethel at 10 o’clock. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Danbury. Calling hours at the Memorial are 7 p.m. Sunday, and 3 to 5 p. m. and 7 to 10 p.m. on Monday.

RICHARD C. GAZEK

FAIRFAX, VA...Richard C. Gazek, 58, husband of Linda (Roberts) Gazek, of Centerville, VA, formally of Bethel, CT. died suddenly on Friday, August 18, 2000, at the Fair Oakes Hospital in Virginia.

He was born in Fall River, MA, September 13, 1941, son of the late Elmer and Lillian (Isidorio) Gazek. He grew up in Bethel and was a graduate of Bethel High in 1960. He attended the University of Southern Illinois at Carbondale, Illinois, and was a graduate of Western Connecticut State University in 1968. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, having served during the Vietnam War.

Mr. Gazek was employed at Intersections, Inc., of Chantilly, Virginia, as a customer service representative.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his in-laws, Forrest and Carol (Roberts) Blair of Bethel; and many aunts, uncles and cousins from California, Arizona, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York and North Carolina.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church in Bethel Aug 25, at a time to be announced. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, Danbury. Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 High St. Danbury, on Thursday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

THELMA (Isidorio) BARABAS

WORKED for TALBOT'S

MIDDLEBORO, MA...Thelma (Isidorio) Barabas, an inspector at Talbot's in Lakeville and Hingham, died Saturday, Feb 4, 1995, at the Cranberry Specialty Hospital after a long illness. She was 69.

She worked at Talbots and also had been a hairdresser at the former Stone's Beauty Shop in Taunton.

Mrs. Barabas graduated from Taunton High School in 1944 and later from the Wilford Beauty Acadamy in Boston. She attended Sacred Heart Church in Taunton.

Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Isidorio and Anna (Emmett) Isidorio.

She leaves a son Stephen P. Barabas Jr. of Southbury, Conn.; two sisters, Ledors "Doris" Soitos and Dolores Grandmont both of Taunton and a grandson.

The funeral will be Thursday at 9 a.m. at the Silva Funeral Home in Taunton with a Mass at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Taunton.

TAUNTON,MASS...Vincent J. Isidorio, 33, husband of Annie Carol (Jenks) (Isidorio) Isadore, 32 Tremont St. , died Saturday, Dec. 20, 1952 at Morton Hospital following a long illness. He was born in Fall River MA, son of Anna (Emmett) and the late Manuel Isidorio and resided here for 18 years. He was employed by the Checker Cab co. and was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church.

In addition to his widow and mother, Mr Isidorio leaves a son Eric, and a daughter, Patience, and two brothers, Joseph and Frank all of Taunton; five sisters, Mrs Ledora Soitos and Mrs Dolores Grandmont, both of Taunton; Mrs Lillian Gazek of Nework, N.J., Mrs. Irene Gray, of North Dighton, and Mrs. Thelma Fraser of Norton.

Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton Mass.

ANNIE ISADORE
wife of Vincent

PROVIDENCE, R. I. -- Annie (Jenks) Isadore, a Fall River resident most of her life, died Friday, Feb. 27, 2004 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was 86. She was the wife of the late Vincent Isadore.

Born in Providence, R. I. she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Sarah (Yates) Jenks. She lived in Fall River, MA. most of her life.

A waitress, she worked for several restaurants, including Pilgrims, Herb's Kitchen, Non Pareil, and Lapre's Turkey Farm. She later worked for Eibe File and Binder Co for several years.

She is survived by her daughter, Patience "Pat" Luma of Fall River and her son Eric Isadore of Portsmouth, R. I. she was the sister of the late Grace Lawson and Clarence and Robert Jenks.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Auclair Funeral Home in Fall River. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Fall River, MA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701

ROLAND CARLSON

Roland Carlson, 81, a resident of Taunton died March 21, 2011 at Morton Hospital. He was born on April 27, 1929 in New Milford, CT the son of Carl E and Ruth (Hellstrand) Carlson. He grew up in Pawtucket RI where he graduated from East High school in 1947. After high school he joined the Navy in 1947 and served as a Machinists Mate General Fireman in the Korean War and then the reserves until 1955. In the early 1950’s into the 1990’s he volunteered for the American Red Cross for both the States of RI and MA teaching courses in first aid, swimming, life saving, CPR, canoeing and water safety.

He loved being on the water and being around boats sailing or working on them and being with his family doing all kinds of activities with them .He was a dedicated and hard worker throughout his life and held a full time and a part time job at the same time never wanting to be idle. He worked as an installer and pipe fitter for the Blackstone Valley Gas & Electric Company in RI and a tractor trailer driver for many companies including Roadway, First National Stores, and A& P Market. He also worked as a pipe fitter for Texas Instruments in Attleboro, MA until his retirement in 1993. He worked part time for Davies Tree Service in RI and for Wells Fargo in Easton and the AMSAR Armored Service Co in Attleboro and Manheim American Auto Auction in No. Dighton. While living in Attleboro he was a member of the Immanual Lutheran Church and then the Memorial United Methodist Church after moving to Taunton 30 years ago.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Muriel Joan (Isidorio) Carlson, two daughters, Kirstin Hanlon of Litchfield, ME., and Karlynn Carlson of Ludlow, MA., a stepson, Frank Weir of Shrewsbury, VT, a stepdaughter, Dawn Paulo, of Somerset MA, four grandchildren, Emma Stewart of Gulfport, MS, David Hanlon, Jr. of Litchfield, ME, and Samantha and Lisa Paulo of Somerset, MA. He also leaves two brothers, his twin, Bertil Carlson of Providence RI. and Clifford Carlson of Warwick, RI., and several nieces and a nephew.

Arrangements are by Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home 350 Somerset Avenue Taunton and will be private at the convenience of the family
