This website is intended to gather and share as much information as possible
about the Isbell and Putman Families and their history.

I am Garry James Isbell. I currently live in Altus, Oklahoma. Prior to this Air Force
assignment I lived in Suffolk, England only a few miles from the village of
Puttenham. I am originally from Leeds, Alabama. Which is just at the base of the
Oak Mountain Chain and just below Dunnavant were many Alabama Isbell's
initially settled. This information has been gathered from multiple sources. My
Isbell Family information comes from Ray Isbell, US Census records, Family
Bibles, Cemetery Data, and family recollections. Much of the information on the
Putmans was shared by Bill Putman. His website is listed in the Favorites
section.

Thanks to Ray Isbell and Bill Putman for their seemingly endless devotion to both lines
without their work and dedication, I would still be at my Great grandparents staring
blankly. Not knowing were to look or where to turn.
