In the name of God Amen, I John Jacob Hill of the township of Windsor County of Berks and Province of Pennsylvania being weak of body but of sound mind and memory blessed be God for the same do make my last will and testament. Concerning my worldly estate in manner following that is to say First: I order that all my just debts shall be payed. Second: I give and bequeath to my son Jacob Hill, his heirs and assign forever all my land or plantation situated in Windsor aforesaid together with my horses cows sheep swine and all kind of husbandry and movables which is now on said plantation nothing excepted thereby. George Nicholas Hildebrand and Anna Maria his wife and Adam Myer and Catherine his wife and John Hill having received their full part which I indented for there share therefore they shall make no demand on my son Jacob Hill. Fifthly: I give and bequeath to my son Peter Hill the sum of twenty pounds lawful money as aforesaid. The said Peter to receive his money in one year, which will make up his portion in full. Sixthly: I give and bequeath to my son Frederick Hill fifty pouns lawful money of the province aforesaid. Seventhly: I give and bequeath to my son Casper Hill the sum of fifty pounds lawful money of the province aforesaid. Eighthly: My will is that my son Jacob Hill might let my beloved wife Elizabeth have leafe in the dwelling house I now live as to room and chiten and to let her hae my bed and so much chiten furniture as is necessary for her use the rest she can do with what she pleases. Lastly: I ordain Nominate and apply my well beloved friends of this my Last Will and Testament as sole Executors Geroge Merkel, Michael Lesser and John Daniel Hill. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 22 day of November in the year of our Lord 1775.
Signed Sealed published pronounced and Declared by the said John Jacob Hill for and as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us the Subscribers who Subscribe our names as Witnesses thereto in his presence and at his request.

Indorsed this Register Generals office Reading, Berks County the 17th day of January in the year of our Lord 1776 then personally appeared George Kelchner and Jacob Trimmer all of the subscribing witnesses of the within written will who upon their solemn oath on the Holy Evangelis of Almighty God separately depose and say that they were present together and saw and heard John Jacob Hill testator therein sign (with his mark) seal and deliver pronounce and declare the same as and for his last will and testament and that at the time of the doing thereof the said testator was of sound mind, memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge, and as they verily believe and further that the names of the deponents subscribed to the said will are of their own proper hand writing by them respectively subscribed as witnesses, thereto.
The other witness subscribed his name at the same time in the presence of each other and in the presence of the said testator.
Register General's Office Reading, Berks County, January 17, 1776 Letters testimentary in common form under the Seal of the Said office on the Will aforewritten of the said John Jacob Hill deceased were granted to George Merkel and Michael Lesher executor therein named. John Daniel Hill the other executor in the said will named having renounced the said executorship. They being afirst solemly affirmed thereto according to law. Inventory to be exhibited on or before the 11th day of February next and an account of their administration when legally required. Registered and examined by Collinson Read, Deputy Reg. |
