William D. Sims was the son of William Sims and Ann Hill, christened 13 Sept 1792 Trinity Church, New York City. His sponsors were William Sim, George Dickinson, and ----- Richardson. James Henry Sims. His first marriage was to Miriam Robison, daughter of John M. Robison and Jane R. Baxter. She was born in Perry County, Pennsylvania.

C. William Robison Sims. There is a marriage record for William Robt. Sims and Elizabeth A. Lautzenheizer on 13 April 1871. It is unknown whether this refers to this William, who would have been only 18 at the time, or to some other, unrelated, William.
William is buried in Willshire Cemetery, Van Wert County, Ohio.
