Batts Family

Quick Overview || Documentation || Links

Introduction

The earliest known Batts ancestor lived in Colonial Virginia. Over several generations, the family moved southwards, eventually settling in Edgecombe County, North Carolina. Some descendants still live in that area.

But several of the sons of William Batts and Chastity Barnes moved westward to Tennessee, where they became early settlers in Robertson County. Again, some descendants remain there, while other branches of the family have moved on.
