- The surname appears to me to be written as "Carlu", however it is indexed both at Ancestry and HeritageQuest as "Carles".
- Sarah's age was actually 33.
- The children's names were actually Estelle, Jewel, and Rufus. Both boys died young.
- While the census taker did include the county of birth for those born in Indiana, he did not always include birthplaces of parents. Also omitted was the marital status of young children.
