First Generation

William KING. William married Mehitabel.

They had the following children:

  1. Mark Snow KING was born about 10 Aug 1823 and died 10 May 1886.

Second Generation

Mark Snow KING (William) was born1 about 10 Aug 1823 in Boston, Suffolk, MA. He died1 10 May 1886 in Brighton, VT from Apoplexy. Mark was employed2as an Engineer in 1880.

DEATH: Mark S King was 62 years, 9 months at death, Locomotive Engineer.
1880 Census: Mark King stated he does not know where his father was born, and there is no birth place for the mother as well.

Mark married3 (1)Marian W KING, daughter of Abel KING and Watana MILLER, on 25 Nov 1847 in Charlestown, Middlesex, MA. Marian was born4 about 27 Jan 1830 in Woodstock, Windsor, VT. She died4 8 Oct 1870 in Brighton, VT from Fever.

DEATH: Marion was 40 years, 8 months and 12 days at death. Mark S. King listed as carpenter, age 22, Marion listed as maiden age 18 at time of marriage.

Mark and Marian had the following children:

  1. Maude KING was born about 1865.
  2. Chester M KING was born 29 Dec 1869 and died about 30 Jun 1967
  3. KING was born5 29 Dec 1869 in Brighton, VT. (There is no first name for this birth record. This could be the birth record for Chester King or another child. No evidence is seen to date for another child or twin.)

Mark also married6, 7 (2) Elizabeth ANDREWS, daughter of Charles ANDREWS and Sarah, on 3 Jan 1872 in Brighton, VT. Elizabeth was born6, 7 Sep 1841 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Elizabeth immigrated8 1855.

Mark's residence listed as Brighton, age 47, second marriage, occupation (baker?) Place of birth Boston, MA. Elizabeth's residence is listed as Holland, her place of birth as Montreal P.2., and her parents as Charles Andrews and Sarah.

Mark and Elizabeth had the following children:

  1. Ella or Etta KING was born2 about 1873 in VT.
  2. Sadie M KING was born2 8 Aug 1877 in VT. Sadie was employed8as a School Teacher in 1900. She was employed9as a Stenographer for a bank in 1920.
  3. Avis L. KING was born 30 Jan 1881.

Third Generation

Maude KING (Mark S, William) was born13 about 1865 in Island Pond, VT. Maude was employed14 as an Asst Matron in 1920 at the Vermont State Prison, Windsor, VT. Maude married13 Alfred L. FARMER, son of Jacob S. FARMER and Ella E. JOHNSON, on 28 Dec 1892 in Brighton, VT. Alfred was born15 28 Apr 1871 in Brighton, VT. Alfred was employed14 as a Clerk in 1920 at the Vermont State Prison, Windsor, VT.

They had the following children:

  1. Merrill FARMER was born16 27 Mar 1895 in Brighton, VT. He died17 Nov 1965 in VT.

Chester M KING (Mark S, William) was born 29 Dec 1869. He died about 30 Jun 1967 in Newport, VT. Chester was employed10as a R. R. Engineer. Chester married11 Helen M BLAKE, daughter of Manfred Wolastein BLAKE and Rosanna Estes BEAN, on 22 Jun 1904 in Brighton, VT. Helen was born12 5 May 1878 in Orford, NH. She died 8 Jul 1969.

Residence of Groom listed as Island Pond, VT at time of marriage, 34 years old, RR Engineer.

Chester and Helen had the following children:

  1. David Chester KING was born 1 Sep 1912 and died 25 Sep 1976.

Avis L. KING (Mark S, William) was born18 30 Jan 1881 in Brighton, VT. Avis married19 Albert DALES, son of Robert DALES and Sarah PLUNKETT, on 2 Apr 1903 in Brighton, VT. Albert was born20 about 1871 in CANADA. Albert was naturalized21 1895. He was employed20 as a Pump repairer in 1903. He resided20 in 1903 in Durand, Michigan. He immigrated22 1903. He was employed21 as a Plumber RR in 1920. He was employed22 as a Plumber in 1930.

They had the following children:

  1. Marjorie P DALES was born21 about 1905 in Michigan.
  2. Wilmer A DALES was born21 about 1910 in VT. Wilmer was employed22 as a Radio repair man in 1930.
  3. Elizabeth DALES was born21 about 1913 in VT.
  4. Arthur E DALES was born21 about 1914 in VT.
  5. Dorethy M DALES was born21 about 1917 in VT.
  6. Helen E DALES was born22 about 1920 in VT.
  7. Patricia A DALES was born22 about 1923 in VT.

Fourth Generation

David Chester KING (Chester M, Mark S, William) was born23 1 Sep 1912 in Colebrook, NH Or Vermont. He died23 25 Sep 1976 in Island Pond, VT and was buried in Brighton Lakeside Cemetery, Island Pond, VT. David married Harriette Alberta WILBUR, daughter of Harry David WILBUR and Josephine Alberta WARNER, on 25 Dec 1941. Harriette was born 7 Jun 1918 in Brattleboro, Windham, VT. She died24 29 Nov 1993 in Springfield, Windsor, VT.
