Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport Leo Varadkar TD has presented proposals for the biggest tourism initiative ever staged in Ireland. ‘The Gathering’ will be a year-long event in 2013 where people at home and abroad can play a part in the country’s recovery, potentially bringing 325,000 extra visitors and providing a major economic stimulus. In view of above it has been decided that the Quinn Gathering should be in 2013
...................................................
William Quinn married Mary Houston in December 1865
Hugh Quinn married Grace Campbell in 1865?
John Quinn married Hannah McLaughlin in 1869?
All these people lived in Gobnascale Convoy,
All were Scutchers of Flax,
All shared common personal names:
Daniel; John; James; Joseph; William; Catherine; Margaret; Teresa; Anne; etc.
Following upon my visits to Convoy in April 2010 and May 2011 am proposing that their descendants (not just bearers of the surname Quinn)get together for a gathering.
