MCADAM(S), LENNAN/LENNON (CO. MONAGHAN)Tim McAdamsG-grandfather, Owen McAdam (1854-1888), came from Ireland to Cleveland, Ohio, USA c. 1875 , where he married Mary McCue. Their first-born was grandfather Daniel Edward (1876-1952). Daniel's firstborn son was father Edward Owen (b. 1916). Owen's sister Alice, (1857-1921) was an Ursuline nun in Cleveland, where Ursuline records listed her parents as Edward McAdam and Susan Lennon of Co. Monaghan, Ireland. Research by Theo McMahon in Monaghan found baptismal records of Catherine McAdam (1865) and Edward McAdam (1868), daughter and son of Edward McAdam and Susan Lennon of Clerran Townland in parish of Clontibret, Co. Monaghan. Catherine's birth is listed in FamilySearch IGI Records, where the mother's name is spelled "Lennan", and birthplace as "Castleshane, Co. Monaghan, Ireland". I would like to find some record of Owen and Alice in Ireland which ties them to siblings Catherine and Edward; perhaps a church or school record.

Patrick married Rose Isabelle McGowan(born Canada). He was a marble contractor(stone cutter), meaning he made gravestones and monuments. They had 9 children and outlived all but 4 of them. Mc CREADYTim Holt
Mc CREADYDave HoltMy Father, David John McCready was born in Belfast, N/Ireland on July 23, 1915. His father soon thereafter moved the family to Dublin, where he took a job as a Prison Warder. My father had at least 1 Brother, Samuel who later emmigrated to Australia.( Where, I have no idea. ) My Father also had at least 1 Sister, who emmigrated to British Columbia,Canada and married a Man named McDonald in Kitchener, B.C. I have no idea what my grand fathers name was. I seem to recall that My Grandmothers name was either Mary or Margaret and she was from County Donegal. Unfortunately at the time my father was alive I was not into genealogy and therefore did not ask the questions that would have made my search much more fruitful. I didn't have a computer or know about the Internet until about 3 years ago and I have been out there since trying to trace my roots. My Father once told me that The McCready Clan was originally from Scotland and went into Ireland in the Army of Oliver Cromwell, where they married Irish Lasses and stayed I suspect that the Clan was based somewhere around the Londonderry or Belfast Area.as my father talked about Derry. I don't think my father and his father got along well as his present to my father on his 15th birthday was a one way ticket to Canada. I seem to hit a brick wall everywhere I go. I would be greatly appreciative if some kind soul could maybe e-mail me back with information that would help me to push down the wall and get on with my search.or at least e-mail back when I send them an e-mail. ( Jim Herlihy of La Garda etc)

MCCUE, SEWELLTim McAdamsOn the McCue side; Daniel McCue, b.1826-1836 in Ireland, married Mary Sewell, b. Ireland, either in Ireland or Scotland; with son, John James McCue b.1856 in Scotland, and went to Allegheny, PA between 1858-1860. They might have traveled from Ireland or Scotland with Mary's brother: James Sewell, who was married to Elizabeth Morton. After two McCue daughters were born in PA, Mary Ellen and Eliza Ann, they went to Cleveland, OH by 1864 where brother Edward Daniel was born. (reference Maura McCormick 1998 posting on GenForum, Http://genforum.genealogy.com/mccue/messages/6.html). I would like to find out where Daniel McCue and Mary Sewell were originaly from in Ireland.

Problem is I cannot find any townland named Tully Lyons on any of the search pages of the internet. All I can guess is that it was combined with another townland or the name was changed.

THERE WERE 13 CHILDREN IN THIS FAMILY, MOST OF THEM INCLUDING MOTHER ALICE EMIGRATED TO PHILA, HUGH HAD A FALLEN OUT WITH THE FAMILY AND EMIGRATED TO SCOTLAND. I BELIEVE IT IS POSSIBLE THE 5 THAT ARE NOT ACCOUNTED FOR COULD HAVE BEEN GIRLS. THE MOTHER EMIGRATED IN 1890 WITH 6 SONS, ALL QUITE YOUNG, SHE JOINED 1 OR 2 OTHER SONS INCLUDING PATRICK IN PHILA. PA.

DEATH CERTIFICATE FOR PATRICK IN PHILA. PA., STATED HE WAS WAKED FROM HIS MOTHER'S HOME AND THAT HE WAS BORN IN WEST LONGFIELD, COUNTY TYRONE, IRELAND. I ASSUME ALL OF THE CHILDREN WERE BORN THERE.

THEN COULD HAVE HAD A SMALL PIECE OF LAND OR RENTED IN A SMALL TOWN CALLED KILLEN, PROBABLY THE FATHER WAS A FARMER.
