I belive all the Betsinger's currently living in New York state descend from Andreas Besinger, who arrived in Montgomery county, New York, in the early 1700's. See HISTORY for more information on Andreas. Andreas' grandson, John, born 1754, Betsinger had his children baptized at Stone Arabia Church, Montgomery County, New York. John's descendents are mostly settled in Madison County; Jacob's relatives in Oneida County. These counties were formed from Montgomery County, New York, so the Betsinger’s could have lived very close to each other. Without a land ownership and boundary line search, exact locations of family are impossible to know. This is another thing I would like to do whenever I get to New York!!

There are still 14 families with the Betsinger surname in New York. I have NOT had contact with many of them. I have tried to make contact but get no response. I don’t know if this is because these families have no interest in genealogy, or if they have all the information, and need to pursue it no further. BUT, I would love to share facts and family groups with them. Names that I can't put in a family group include Carter in Minoa; Donald in Blossvale; Frank in East Rochester; and Matthew in Fairport.
