My great-great grandmother was Sarah Mower Betsinger. She was married to Jacob Betsinger. Sarah was born in 1815, in Oneida County, New York. She died in 1884, in Oneida County, New York. This page will TRY to tie some Mower/Mowers information together.

Sarah's parents are Abrahm Mower and Elizabeth France. They would have been born in roughly 1774, as they are listed in the 1850 census for Oneida County, living with Sarah's brother. See below. I do know she had a brother, John, who married a Sally, and a sister, Gertrude. Elizabeth France's father was Conrad Mower, born in roughly 1760. In the 1850 census, there is a Lalona France living with John Mower's family. Is this Sarah's grandmother?? I don't know. This is all the information I have that is proven. The remainder is theories.

Below are some census records, that I've made note of. I've tried to show relationships, or make note when similar names were in the same area. PLEASE let me know if you spot anything I have not noticed.
1840 census, ONeida county, Steuben, p. 570 is, all next to each other:
Christian Bedsinger (I believe this is Jacob's brother) male 20-30; female under 5; one 5-10; one 10-15; one 30-40
Jacob Beddinger (this fits in with my Jacob, the ages, etc.)three males under 5; two 5-10; two 40-50; female under 5; one 20-30
Abram Mowers (I believe this is Sarah's family) two males 20-30; one 30-40; one female 40-50
Coonradt Mowers (I don't know who this is, but believe it will be family) one male under 5; one male 40-50; one female 5-10; two 10-15; one 20-30
John Mowers (I believe this is Sarah's brother) one male 5-10; one 20-30;one female under 5; two 5-10; one 20-30

In 1850 census, next door to Jacob and Sarah Mower Betsinger lives John Bedsinger, son of Jacob. And a Paul France, age 12, living with John. 3 doors down from Jacob and Sarah Betsinger are John and Sally Mower, with parents, Abram and Eliz. Mower. So, I do think this is our Sarah's brother. And a Lalona France, age 88 born Germany. I don't know who this France is; possibly Elizabeth Mower's mother. Next door is Abrah Mower and wife Lydia and child. This may be another sibling of Sarah's. (I do know she had a sister, Gertrude, also). 5 doors down is Jeremiah Mower and wife Betsy Ann and dau. Elizabeth. (Betsey Ann was a Betsinger, daughter of Christian, brother to Jacob.) So, again, they are all in same area. The census records follow:

They are living on farms next to each other

Christian France was born in Tompkins Co.NY in 1810. Jeremiah Mowers mother was a Franz/France - is Jerry related to Christian France? In 1870 census, nine doors down from the group mention is John and Sally Mower.

And in 1880 census, 10 doors down from Christian Betsinger is Jeramjah Mowers, with Elizabeth Williams and children living with them. Elizabeth Williams is their daughter, and her children. And 3 doors other way from Betsinger's is Christian France and wife Sarah. So, like I said, I'm beginning to think France may be the correct spelling, and I'm sure these all are related somewhere.
