While I have not devoted a lot of research time to this line, I have accumulated some bits and pieces of information.  I am posting it here in hopes someone wiill see it and have a connection to this family.
This symbol  represents my direct lineage.

Jacob Alfred "Jake" DODSON b. __ Jan 1860, AL, a Farmer, m. 09 Jan 1881, in Itawamba Co., MS, Sarah Louella "Ella" COOLEY, b. __ Sep 1861, MS (or   Marion Co., AL?), (daughter of William Allen COOLEY and Elizabeth JONES) d. __ bef 1920.   I am looking for when and where both of these people died and are buried.

 I found this family in census records for 1900, 1910 and 1920 in Lee and Itawamba Counties, Mississippi
and learned that Ella was the mother of 10 children, but only 6 lived to adulthood.  These were:
 

Marvin Earl DODSON b.  Oct 1884, MS, Farmer-Carpenter, m. 1902 Francis L. "Frankie" (_______) Dodson, b. 08 Apr 1880, MS, d. 19 May   1942, Fulton, MS?? Buried Friendship Cem., Fulton, MS. Marvin died 08 Jun 1951, Tupelo Community Hospital, Tupelo, MS, Bur:  Jun 1951, Friendship Cem., Fulton, MS.

Horace Greeley DODSON b.  Mar 1893, MS, Farm Labor, m. ca 1910, in MS, Mary(an) "Annie" (LEE?) Dodson, b. ca 1887, MS, Buried Springhill Cem., Lee Co., nr Saltillo. Horace died 15 Nov 1968, last res. Nettleton, Itawamba, MS, SS# 425-05-9073 issued MS.

John Bunyan DODSON b.  Feb 1894, Richmond, Itawamba, MS (per census), Farm Labor , m. Neoma G. OLIVER, b. ca 1893, MS, (daughter of Daniel E. OLIVER and Mary D.(_______) Oliver). WWI Draft Registration Card gives John's birth date as 23 Jan 1893 in Richmond, Itawamba Co., MS.

Delbert Ryley DODSON b.  Feb 1895, MS, Farm Labor, d.  Apr 1972, last res. Fulton, Itawamba, MS, SS#425-40-8688 issued in MS.

Alfred Bennett DODSON b. 26 Sep 1898, MS, Farm Labor, d. 20 May 1926, Buried Springhill Cem., Lee Co., nr Saltillo.

  Anna Maye DODSON b. 06 Sep 1900, Dorsey, Itawamba, MS, m. 16 Oct 1921, in Mantachie, Itawamba, MS, James Orville DOZIER, b. 07 Sep 1903, Fulton, Itawamba, MS, (son of Charles Andrew DOZIER and Lucinda Frances WATSON, Mechanic/ Baptist, d. 30 Sep 1967, Memphis, TN, Buried Forest   Hill Cem., Memphis, TN. Anna died 21 Oct 1997, Grass Lake, MI, cremated.
