This is the site we (Constance and Richard) found each other while we were both working Peterson/Thompson family histories. Even though we are 2000 miles apart we have made great advances in our search.

This is a great Web site that has a lot of useful on-line data. It also is associated with Kendall County Historic Society, Yorkville IL. Elmer Dickerson operates this site. He has done an outstanding job in computerizing a lot of data from Kendall Counties. Not everything is available on-line but he does have these in book form for sale through the historical society. Also the Historical Society has a Query section and does offer some help with your search.

The volunteers to be very helpful and friendly.

This is a good site associated with LaSalle County Genealogy Guild, Ottawa IL with a lot of information available on line and also has a group of volunteers that will help with your search by e-mail. But if you ever get a chance to go to Ottawa IL and visit there head quarters, you will be amazed at the information that lines their many bookshelves, files their file cabinets, upstairs and a house across the street. It was very impressive, the amount of hard copy material, microfilm and microfiche

The people are very friendly and helpful.
