Gustavis A. THEURER, well known farmer of Fabius township for 37 years, died at the Bronson Methodist hospital in Kalamazoo at ten-twenty Saturday night, where he underwent an operation Saturday morning.
He was born in Kalamazoo county June 15, 1857, a son of Lucas and Anna STEINHILBER THEURER. The family came to Three Rivers when he was a small boy. A few years later they moved to Fabius township where he has since lived. Forty-five years ago he was married to Emma GEMBERLING who preceded him in death just a year ago. Mr. Theurer was a very successful farmer and during his residence in Fabius township made a wide circle of friends. After the death of Mrs. Theurer last year he sold his farm and has since lived with his brother George THEURER, of Fabius.
Besides his brother George, he is survived by five sisters, Emma and Rose THEURER of Fabius, Mrs. G.H. SHANNON of San Francisco, Mrs. Louise SMITH and Mrs. Nettie CAMERON of Portland, Ore., a stepson, Sam FITTING and two grandchildren, Harold and Elsie FITTING of Kalamazoo.
Funeral services wil be held at the Haring Chapel at two o'clock Tuesday. Rev. Amos Hogart of Cassopolis officating.
The burial will be made at Riverside.(May 12, 1936)
