The Mellors have fascinated me for years and I longed to find out a bit about them, my paternal grandmother was a Mellor and told us many tales but I can hardly remember any of them.
Along with my daughter Claire I have spent many hours either on my PC or in the library. We came across many other names along the way and have researched them as well. The families lived in the Idle, Windhill, Baildon, Shipley and Bradford areas of Yorkshire.
We also found a Rycroft and his family in Hampshire and some of his grandchildren were born in Malta.Two Parkers were in Melbourne, Australia, where one of them died in a tragic accident and a Skirrow who went to America where he died in New York State.
We have researched to a degree my maternal line as well but have mainly concentrated on the Mellor side.
