The Rycrofts

We seem to know more about the Rycrofts  than we do about the Mellors, and many of them seem to have really grand names! I was amazed when one night I decided it was time to check them out. I finished with pages of notes which I'd pieced together from the IGI index and census records. I remembered a tip I read recently about the IGI, check if it's a batch number, which is a transcription from the parish records, or a submitted file, which obviously has been posted by someone, so is not necessarily accurate. In those cases I tried to find a record on a batch number, census records or some other proof that it was correct.
