Eliza TIPTON and Dr. Tyree RODES were married on 27 Dec 1831 in Tipton County, TN.²³ Dr. Rodes and Eliza made their home in the Big Creek neighborhood of Ralls County Missouri. He was a doctor first in Covington, Tennessee and then in Missouri. Dr. Tyree RODES died in 1861.²⁴ Dr. Rodes served in the Civil War as indicated by him being listed in "Tennessee Confederate Pension Applications (Soldiers & Widows)" on file with the Tennessee State Library and Archives (http://www.tennessee.gov/tsla/history/military/pen044.htm).
