90. Jacob T. TIPTON was born in 1792 in Cades Cove, Blount Co, TN.1 He died from injuries inflicted by Cherokee Indians in the late 1820's in Cades Cove, Blount Co, TN.13 Jacob at age 22 was 5'9", fair complected, blue eyes. 40th Regt. BIountt. County. In 1836 he was 2nd Lt. Officer in Capt. Ben Cunningham's Co., trouble arose in Seminoles, Tn. and asked to furnish 2000 mounted volunteers and 4000 volunteered. Two from Blount went, Jacob was one of 69 men in his Co. to go.

J.W.H. Tipton of Tuckaleechee Cove was a private in 1st Tn. Regt. from Knox. The Cades Cove Tiptons decended from two sons of William (Fighting Billy), Jonathan R. and Jacob T. Tipton. Jacob bought his first land from his father in 1824 and added to his purchases in 1839 and 1844. Jacob was a community leader and Justice of the Peace for the district. His house was designated as voting place when Civil District 16 was established. He was hot headed as stories were handed down. In 1848 he went to Missouri but left two sons, Isaac-and John J. (Jack) in the Cove. There were no Tipton's in Cades Cove in 1850 census. John J. went but came back, Jacob came back to Knox Co. in 1860 age 68, Hannah thought to have died in Mo.

Jacob T. TIPTON and Hannah Anne WATSON were married on 6 Sep 1814 in NC.1 Hannah Anne WATSON1 was born in 1792 in NC.1 She died in Missouri. Jacob T. TIPTON and Hannah Anne WATSON had the following children:
