13. Johanne Adam
"Hans" BIEBEL8,10,11 was born
on 2 Apr 1728 in Goersdorf, Bas-Rhin, Alsace, France. He died on
23 Feb 1795 in Rockingham County, VA.12
On 23 Feb. 1795, George Bible and Eve Bible, the widow, posted bond in Rockingham
County, VA in the amount of 1200 dollars for the administration of the estate
of Adam Bible deceased. Bondsmen were Jacob Custard and James Beggs.
Johan arrived in America on November 30, 1750 at port Philadelphia, PA aboard
a ship named Sandwich, captained by a Mr. Hazelwood. The ship had left the port
of Rotterdam, Holland with 200 passengers.
The European records indicate from the Preuschdorf Lutheran KB (church records)
a Georg Bibel, son of Mathis Bibel, citizen at Goersdorf, m. 11 May 1723 Maria
Eva, daughter of Christopher Burckhardt, citizen and mastersmith and Gerichtsschoffen
(mayor) at Presuschdorf. Their son was John Adam, born 2 April 1728. Ms. Burgert
states, Hans Adam Biebel's signature in the marriage record and bpt record in
this KB matches his signature on list from the Sandwich.

on 19 Nov 1748 in Goersdorf, Bas-Rhin, Alsace, France.
Military voucher records for Rockingham County, VA for the year 1788 listed the
following people as having made contributions to the war effort: Adam Bible,
one tithable, sons John and Ludwich (Christian), seven horses; Adam Bible Jr.,
one tithable, three horses; George Bible, three horses; Phillip Bible, two horses.
Adam Sr. and Adam Jr. lived in Captain John Ruddells Company number 11 and Phillip
and George lived in Captain Harrison's Company number 5 ("Virginia Valley
Records" by John W. Wayland). Landowners in Rockingham County, VA in the
year 1789 included Adam Bible Sr. with 356 acres in military district number
7 and Adam Bible Jr. with 113 acres in the same district.
Maria Eva Margaretha MÜLLER (daughter of Otto
Philipp MÜLLER) was born before 1735 in Alsace, France.8 She died about 1800.8
