First Generation

1. Harley Vearl BIBLE¹ was born on 3 Feb 1943 in Athens, TN. He graduated in 1961 from Lanier High School, Blount County, Tennessee. He served in the military between 1967 and 1973 in Army National Guard (Maryville, Tn). He lived at 5936 Lanier Crossroad in Maryville, TN 1995-.

Vearl lived on 411 Highway, approximately four miles south of Maryville, TN, the first seven years of his life and attended Fairview Elementary School. In 1950 His parents moved to a sixty-five acre farm in the Lanier community, approximately fifteen miles south of Maryville.

He enjoyed the wonderous childhood of a farm boy through his teen-age years while attending Lanier High School which was within two miles of walking distance. (This was a lot better than his parent's had it because they had to walk ten miles to school in snow waist deep then come home and hoe five acres of corn before supper). However, everything wasn't always rosy. His parents were industrious people and always saw to it that there were slabs to off-bear at the sawmill, stables to clean, hay to pitch, cows to feed, gardens to plant and weed, corn to plow, and tobacco to bed, plant, hoe, sucker, deworm, put in the barn and grade! (Pappy Harley and Mama Maybelle didn't like to see a boy with idle time).
