was born in Wythe County, Virginia, daughter of John Harrell and Spouse
unknown and grand daughter of William Harrell 1740, Wythe County,
Virginia and Martha Unknown. Charlotte is sister of Hannah
Harrell who married Spear L. Hurst. No record of marriage.

1813, Tennessee, married James C. (Calvin?) Harrell 23 Mar 1859 in
Claiborne County, Tennessee. James C. Harrell was born about
1825, probably in Grainger County, Tennessee, Parents unknown.
James Calvin Harrell was widely believed to have been the son of
William Harrell 1794 and Elizabeth Hurst 1797, but a court document
listing the heirs of William does not list a son named James. I
now believe that this James Calvin Harrell may be the son of William
Nelson Harrell 1784, Bertie County, North Carolina and Donnie Herron
1787. Several researchers list a son named Calvin Harrell born
1825 in Grainger County Tennessee. I believe that this Calvin
Harrell may be the James C. Harrell that married Eliza Hurst. The
only record I could find was a James C. Harrell located in Grainger
County, Tennessee in the 1850 census records. No record of
marriage.

Amanda Hurst born 1845 in Claiborne County, Tennessee, daughter of
Wiley Thompson Hurst 1811, Tennessee and America Plank 1813, Tennessee,
married Richard Harrell 25 Aug 1859 in Claiborne County,
Tennessee. Richard Harrell believed to be Richard Harrell born
1834, Grainger County, Tennessee, son of Larkin L. Harrell 1804, Orange
County, North Carolina and Sussannah Nash 1807, Tennessee. Larkin
Harrell moved from Grainger County to Claiborne County, between 1850
and 1860. No Richard Harrell/Herrell located in Tennessee in 1860
or 1870 census. No record of marriage.
Drury Peter Harrell Family
James Ervin "Dick" Harrell born 1832 in Claiborne County
Tennessee, son of Captain Drury Peter Harrell 1785, Bertie County,
North Carolina and Mary Emily Hopson 1788, Bertie County, North
Carolina, located in Claiborne County, Tennessee in the 1870
census. Spouse listed as Amanda 25, Tennessee. Some
researchers have identified this Amanda as Amanda Hurst and indicate
this marriage as 25 Aug 1859. Since no children are listed until
1861, it is possible that Amanda Hurst was first married to Richard
Harrell and married 2nd to James Ervin Harrell. The nickname
"Dick" may have been contrived to fit the circumstances. No
record of this marriage.

daughter of Pryor Lee Hurst 1829 Claiborne County, Tennessee, and
Rebecca McBee 1823, Claiborne County, Tennessee, married Drew Harrell
Rosenbalm 29 Mar 1839 in Claiborne County, Tennessee. Drew
Harrell Rosenbalm was born 5 Feb 1837 in Claiborne County, Tennessee,
son of David Rosenbalm 1812 Washington County, Virginia, and Elizabeth
Harrell 1811, Bertie County, North Carolina. Elizabeth Harrell
was the daughter of Drury Peter Harrell and sister to James Ervin
Harrell. No record of this marriage.

in Claiborne County, Tennessee. Rhoda J. Harrell was born 1850 in
Claiborne County, Tennessee, daughter of Drury Peter Harrell Jr. 1821,
Claiborne County, Tennessee and Emily Unknown 1828, Claiborne County,
Tennessee. Rhoda J. Harrell is the niece of James Ervin Harrell
who possibly married Amanda Hurst, and of Elizabeth Harrell who married
David Rosenbalm. Rhoda is the grand daughter of Drury Peter
Harrell Sr. James T. Hurst is the brother of Emily Ann Hurst who
married Drew Harrell Rosenbalm. No record of this marriage.

County, Tennessee. Laura Marie Harrell was the grand daughter of
James Ervin Harrell 1832 and Amanda Hurst 1845 of Claiborne
