Alice Susan Hempstead McBurney

FOREST CITY - Susan McBurney, 87, of Forest City, died Thursday (Jan. 21,
1999) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the South Oak Grove
Cemetery in Stuart.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Petersen Lund
Funeral Home, Forest City.
Memorials may be given to Hospice of North Iowa in her memory.
Susan McBurney was born March 6, 1911, in Victor.
Survivors include her husband, John Kenneth McBurney, of Forest City; two
daughters, Beth Oleson, of Forest City and Mary Thornton McNally, of Board
Camp, Ark.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister,
Betty Ernst, of Grinnell; and one brother, Jean Hempstead, of Ames.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Mrs. Emma Elizabeth Ikola died May 27, 1984 in the Fort Bragg hospital.
Born in Peninki, Finland, October 21, 1901, she came to Navarro in 1922 and lived 40 years in Fort Bragg. Her husband, Emil F. Ikola, died [on 29 April 1968].
Two daughters, Sylvia Gustafson and Lillian Lemmon, both of Fort Bragg and a sister, Lyydi Siikaniva in Finland, survived.
Rev. Willis J. Forsyth led services on the 29th; interment was at Rose [Memorial Park].
