Zelma Pennington, 80, of El Dorado, died Sunday in Oklahoma. Memorial Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow the services in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
Mrs. Pennington was born July 19, 1905, in Chillocothe, Missouri, the [daughter] of Charles and Pearl Lemmon Manning.
On July 5, 1930, she was united in marriage to James Irl Pennington. He preceded her in death April 10, 1985. Mrs. Pennington has lived in this area since 1941. She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church. For several years
she worked as Licensed Practical Nurse.
Surviving family include two sons, James Dale Pennington, El Dorado, David Lee Pennington of Alaska; five daughters, Margaret Wood, Claremore, Okla., Charlene Unruh, Broken Arrow, Okla., Patricia Sluder, Derby, Marilyn Sue
James, Lancaster, Calif., Gayle Glickler, Broken Arrow, Okla.; three brothers, Charles and David Manning, both of Kansas City, Missouri; Loyal Manning, Shula, Missouri; three sisters, Helen Usery, Marshall, Missouri, Charlotte Buck, Hot Springs,
Arkansas, Pearl Uhlig, Detroit Michigan; 21 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial has been established with the Kansas Heart Foundation. Contributions can be sent to the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home where friends may call.
