Family Sketch
--
Reba's grandparents came from Ottwa, Ohio to Marion, Indiana. Her parents came from near Marion, Indiana. Reba's grandfather Radabaugh worked on the canal and also on oil rigs. Her father worked on the canal. She remembers two
brothers, Ellsworth and Harley, who took her sister Kathleen to the Worlds Fair in 1932.
Reba walked two miles each way to County School #6 for the first two years of her schooling. The family moved again, and her father drove the three children and two other neighbors to Hamilton to school every day. Reba worked
for a family in Auburn after she finished high school. They took her with their family to Florida for three months and she got paid $5.00 a week.
After she and Lawrence were married they lived in Pldeasant Lake, where Lawrence worked in the grain elevator. Connie Ruth was born there.
Reba has worked in many local restaurants in the Steuben County area: Captain Cabin, Hamilton House and Pokagan Inn. She was a member of the Pleasant Lake Homemakers Club and has been a member of the Hamilton Homemakers Club for
years. She also worked for the Department of Agriculture serving as an agent for Expended Food Nutritional Program for 12 years.
