The forty year reunion of the Class of 1961 was held October 27, 2001 at Four Points Barcelo Hotel in Elizabeth. Included were graduating classes of 1960, 1961, 1962 and 1963.  By far the largest number of attendees were from the class of 1961 (of course!).

I believe this is Alfonse Liguori and his wife with Bill Michalski and Carmine Sabia and his wife.

This is me with Diane and Fred (Fernando) Garcia.  Fred and Diane's children were friends of our daughters when we lived in Roselle, NJ. Their older sons, James and Matt, sang in the Abraham Clark High School choirs with our Cathy and Carol.

Bill Leach and Joe Grazio.  After the 25th reunion, to which Joe wasn't invited because they couldn't find him, we were all invited back to his home.  He lived in the same house where he grew up.

I walked into the hotel and the first person I saw was Norma Arons with Mike, her husband.  Mike is from the Jefferson Class of 1960.  I had NO idea!  Mike and Norma live near us in Montgomery Township and Norma just retired from teaching kindergarten.  Last year Sharon was Norma's "grandfriend" and spent Tuesdays reading to Norma's kindergarteners!  Were we ever surprised to see each other!  I had never suspected that Mike was from Elizabeth.

We all had a great time at the fortieth reunion. Tom Leary walked up to me and covered his name tag.  Told me that he knew I wouldn't know who he was.  I had attended sheet metal apprentice school with Tom for four years.  No, I didn't know who he was!  He was in the Class of 1960.
