She practiced for several years in a hospital in Washington, D.C. Her last years of usefulness were spent in New York City. Gradual failing of health and mind compelled her to give up active work and she came to Levanna where she has up to the time of her death had the devoted care and attention of her niece, Miss Milly Wardwell.
The deceased leaves two sons, Wallace and John Kies of New York and one daughter, Mrs Anna Curtis of Brooklyn. The funeral was held from the home of Horace Wardwell Tuesday morning at 10:30 o'clock. Rev. F. T. Campbell of Union Springs spoke comforting words from the Twenty-third Psalm and quoted Tenneyson's beautiful poem 'Crossing the Bar'. Nearer My God to Thee, a favorite hymn of the deceased, was sung by Mrs. E. L. Trumpeter. Burial was help yesterday morning at Horseheads.

Daniel D. Titus was born about 1855. He appeared in the census in 1865 in Ledyard, Cayuga Co., New York. In 1926 he lived at Aurelius, Cayuga Co., New York . During a period of his life his mother lived with him. The few notes below are from newspaper searches and add a little to his story. He died on 13 Oct 1937 in Coonley Corners, Cayuga Co., New York.

Justice Rich held a brief session of Special Term this morning, granting orders in a few unimportant matters, among them one discounting the action brought by Edward Titus against Daniel Titus and others.

Another Perjury Charge.
This Grows Out of an Alleged Assault Case in Ledyard.

This grows from the fact that Daniel Titus appeared before a Justice and swore and certified that on the 1st day of October Henry Scobey assaulted DT with a knife on the head and exclaiming. Scobey alleged that he did not assault Titus on that day or any other day. Deposition was made on November 9 and a warrant issued. Titus was jailed awaiting action of the next grand jury. brought to Auburn, and yesterday afternoon was admitted to bail in the sum of $1000 by county Judge Greenfield.

Horse Broke Titus' Arm
Daniel Titus, a farmer residing near the Village of Aurora, suffered a double fracture of the left arm, yesterday, when a horse which he was currying kicked him. Mr. Titus was knocked down by the animal but was able to get to the house unassisted where it was seen that he had suffered a serious injury and Dr. B. K. Hoxie of Sherwood was summoned and reduced the fracture. Mr. Titus was reported to be getting along nicely today.

Missing, Found in Home Dead

Daniel Titus, 83, who Lived Alone in Ledyard, Victim of Cerebral Hemorrhage--Once Raced String of Trotters. Daniel Titus, 83, was found died at his home on the Harold Giles Road in the Town of Ledyard at noon today. Mr. Titus has not been seen about his home by neighbors for a few days and an investigation resulted in finding him dead in a chair in a room just inside the front door. Sheriff I. Burt Cooper was notified. Deputy Sheriff Paul Cooper and Coroner Dr. Frank L. DeFurio motored to the Titus home. The coroner gave cerebral hemorrhage as the cause of death and gave the opinion that the man had been dead since yesterday. The deceased was well known in the south part of the county years ago as a horseman with a string of good trotters and as a farmer. He was a bachelor and lived alone at his place. The body was taken in charge by the Frank undertaking firm in Union Springs. Frank Hill of Springport is a nephew.

Horton? Dawn has her mother with the maiden name of Thurston and not sure of Horton father.

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. — Lloyd W. Schenck, of Union Springs and Brooksville, Fla., died peacefully Jan. 27, 2002, after a brief battle with cancer. He was 84.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Schenck of Brooksville; his daughters, Nancy Farnharn and husband Seward of Spring Hill, Fla., and Linda Hamilton and husband Lawrence of Charlotte, Vt.; brother, Hall Schenck ol Macon, Ga. and sister, Eudene Steinfeldt of
Cortland; grandchildren, Julie Mullen of Rochester and Jeffrey Jorolemon of Framington; and great-grandchildren, Sarah and Sean Mullen and Jared Jorolemon.
Interment of ashes will tak place in the spring in Fort Hil Cemetery, Auburn.
