Valparaiso University head coach Mis' Mrak is entering his 14th season at the helm of the Crusaders men's soccer program.

Mrak earned Mid-Continent Conference Coach of the Year accolades in 2002 after leading Valpo to the Mid-Con Tournament for the first time in four seasons. He guided the Brown and Gold to two victories over Big Ten schools, including a 2-1 triumph over 22nd-ranked Wisconsin. In 2001, Mrak led his Crusaders to a road victory over nationally ranked Bradley, while in 2000, he guided Valpo to two more victories over Big Ten opponents on the road, defeating Northwestern and Michigan State.

Mrak was also named Mid-Con Conference Coach of the Year following the 1997 and 1998 seasons, after guiding the Crusaders to back-to-back regular season titles. His 1996 Valpo team earned the school's first ever trip to the Mid-Continent Conference Tournament. While there, the Crusaders grabbed their first ever Mid-Con championship ring, defeating Central Connecticut State in the title match. With the win, Mrak’s squad advanced to the NCAA Play-in match at the College of Charleston.

A 1988 graduate of Metropolitan State College with a degree in education, Mrak earned All-League honors while playing soccer. He is currently a nominee for Metro State's Athletics Hall of Fame.

Mrak, originally from Portage, Ind., has earned his USSF National "A" Coaching License, along with his National Youth License. He is also a former staff coach and instructor within the Indiana Youth Soccer Association.

Mis' married his wife Stacey, a 1994 Valparaiso University Law School graduate, on May 25, 1995. They have three children, Sidney Marie, born July 3, 1998, Mia Claire, born August 6, 2002, and Kale Michael, born July 25, 2004.
