Carl Hermann Horsch and Fanny Littlefield lived in Maine and New Hampshire. Carl was raised in Saxony and was a physician. He immigrated to America in 1854, where he established a practice in Dover. Carl married Fanny in 1858, and they had their first daughter, Lenna who was born later that year. Carl served for 7 months as a surgeon the union army during the Civil war. Carl and Fanny had their second daughter, Henrietta in 1864.
