Horsch Families in Michigan

Most of the Horsch families in Michigan are descendents of Jacob Horsch and Susanna Young. Jacob and Susanna immigrated in 1881/1882, and settled in Detroit. Today, many of their descendents live in Wayne, Jackson, Macomb and Oakland counties.

Another line of Horsches settled in the Pennfield township of Calhoun county. The 1860 census shows Jacob and Elizabeth Horsch, who came from Baden. They had two children named Elizabeth and Peter. Census and marriage records show a Eugene Gibbs and Catherine Horsch, and his sister Mary Gibbs had married a Horsch. Little else is know about this line of Horsches.
