Henry Horsch and Martha Frazey

Henry Horsch was born in Bavaria around 1831. He immigrated to America and settled in Butler County, Ohio. Martha Frazey was born in Ohio in 1837. Martha and Henry married in 1855.

Henry and Martha had their first three children prior to the start of the civil war. Henry enlisted in the Army on August 26, 1861 soon after the start of the civil war. He served in Company D of the 35th Infantry Regiment Ohio.

The 35th regiment left Hamilton, Ohio on September 26. 1861 and moved into Kentucky. For the next three years the 35th regiment was engaged in skirmishes and battles in Kentucky, Geogia and Tennessee.

Henry mustered out of the army on September 8, 1864 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Henry and Martha had three more children after he returned to Ohio.
