Parker, Beloved Physician and Neighbor On Sunday night, September 27, the Death Angel passed over our town and removed from our midst our beloved physician and neighbor, Dr. L. A. Parker. His wife, son, and daughter-in-law were at his bedside when he passed away and had faithfully and lovingly attended him during his long weeks of illness. To them the hearts of a multitude of friends go out in deepest sympathy, as to the little grandchildren whom he so loved and to whom he has left the "priceless heritage of a stainless name." For many years Dr. Parker gave his best of skill and experience to the sick and suffering of this community and was considered the best diagnostitician in the county. In the trying days of last winter he waged an untiring war against pneumonia that threatened our village. Day and night he gave unstintedly of his strength and energy in teh struggle, and from this strain he never fully recovered. As truly as any hero of a battlefield, he gave his life in the service of humanity. As a citizen he had no superior and few equals, always doing his part in civic, fraternal and religious affairs. He stood for the right against all forms of immorality and evil, yet was conservative and tolerant in his judgement, kindly in his treatment of everyone. A good neighbor, a true and dependable friend-- "He was a man, and take it all in all, A Friend
