Obituary of Bill Hearn

William Nelson (Bill) Hearn*

William Nelson (Bill) Hearn, 84, of Scottboro, Alabama, formerly of Jackson, Tennessee, died Friday, January 7, 1994, at the Scottsboro-Jackson County General Hospital.

Mr. Hearn was born in 1909 in Chester County, Tennessee, the son of O. E. Hearn, Sr. and Mary Eddins Hearn. He was a contractor in Madison County, Tennessee, for many years, and retired in 1969 after 20 years as Building Inspector for the City of Jackson, Tennessee. He is a life member of the Carpenter"s Union. He has lived in Scottsboro since 1980 and is a member of the First United Methodist Chuch.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lerlene Houston Hearn, a daughter, Dr. Barbara Hearn Jacobs, and a granddaughter, Lesley Elizabeth Jacobs, all of Scottsboro, Alabama, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Saturday, January 8, 10:00 AM at the Scottsboro Funderal Home, with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Scottsboro, Alabama, Dr. Mack Chapman officiating.

Mr. Bill and Miss Lerlene and their daughter, Barbara, lived in Pinson, Madison County, Tennessee for many years. Miss Lerlene was the Postmistress in Pinson. Miss Lerlene died in May 1995.
