In Memory of Arch Snodgrass- by Thomas Pugh

To the father, brother, sister, and many relatives and friends:

I am very much grieved at the loss of such a noble young man.  Arch was a kind and upright boy.  He had a feeling for everyone.
Arch and I had our first meeting at Saltillo about ten years ago.  We were in the primary grades together for about three or four months.  Then he moved away, but the friendship will never be forgotten.  But when we were brought in closer contact with each other.  During the four years in high school we were together constantly.  If one had trouble the other helped bear the burden.  I found that Arch was the most dependable boy I ever met.  He stood for what was right regardless of whom it affected.  I only wish I could express my love for him.

When we finished high school we planned to go to college, but in August we joined the CCC, yet we had planned to go to school in April.  All decisions were left to him, for I knew Arch was my superior and my confidence in him never ceased.  Arch has not stopped living.  God and the angels are smiling on him, for he was prepared to meet death any time.  I, the one who knew him best, loved him best..
                                                        His best Pal,

                                                            Thomas Pugh
