Marie Holtz Engel
Left picture was about 1922. Marie J. Holtz was the youngest daughter of Friedrick "Fritz" Holtz, born and raised on a farm in Irondequoit, Monroe Co., NY. She was born in June of 1888. She worked on the family farm, later worked as a "Sorter" at Kodak in Rochester, NY, and became a practical nurse with a private practice. She married at the age of 44 to George Engel on June 1st., 1933. After the marriage, they lived at her fathers home for a while, then moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They moved back to Irondequoit at an unknown later date and lived in a house on St. Paul Boulevard close to her fathers home. She passed away before her husband, sometime after 1959. George then moved to Wisconsin to live his final years with his family. The child with Marie in the left picture is that of her nephew, William Holtz, son of Frank Holtz.
