This indenture made the thirteenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty three between W.A. JACKSON on the one part and Joseph C. JACKSON of the other part witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars to me in hand paid by the said Jackson I have this day bargained sold and conveyed and by these presents grant bargain sell and convey unto the said JACKSON one quarter lot of land number one thousand and seventy in the ninth originally now the eleventh militia district of Carroll County it being the north corner of said lot or quarter containing fifty and five eighths more or less it being a part of the lot on which the said W.A. JACKSON now resides to have and to hold unto him J.C. JACKSON with all and singular the rights members and appurtenances thereunto belonging and I the said Wm A. JACKSON do by these presents bind myself my heirs to warrant and defend the above bargained premises unto him the said Joseph C. JACKSON his heirs and assigns forever in fee simple in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above Written signed sealed and delivered in the presence of

In person appeared before me the subscribing Justice of the peace in and for said county R.S. FLETCHER who being duly sworn deposeth and saith that the said W.A. JACKSON signed sealed and delivered the written deed for the purpose therein mentioned and that he signed the same as a witness as a witness (sic; phrase repeated in the record) and saw S. Copeland do so likewise sworn to and subscribed before me on this 8th of June 1853.
