Jacob Steele of East Union Township, Wayne Co OH was  born 1785 near Reading PA according to his obituary, soooo....
In the 1790 census we need at least 3 boys under 16 [these would be John, Jacob and William ...there could be other white males over 16 in the census because there could be someone living there with them or there could be a son that later died or did not come to Ohio with the others that we do not know about. Females we do not know about for sure, so if there are more than one listed, that is ok for now.

: 1790 STATE: PA COUNTY: Berks DISTRICT: Borough of Reading ENUMERATOR: Mark Lotz
Now on this one...think of this....the name is sometimes spelled Steele...what if you pronounced that last "e"...the census taker might use a spelling like this: Stehly
page11 line5 Stehly, Jacob 1, 5, 1[one Free White Male 16 and up including head of house:this would be Jacob himself, 5 free white males under 16:too many boys under 16 is good..does not eliminate this Jacob from being father of Jacob of East Union Wayne Co OH, one free white female] And if we count Samuel and Archibald in the mix then there would have been five boys born before 1790 according to the information that I have from Steele cousin and researcher Robin Biddle.

In the same Borough of Reading
