Disclaimer for all of the 120th OVI pages. I am trying to identify these soldiers. I
enter information here that appears to be for the correct person. But it is always
possible that I have connected the soldier to the wrong family. That is
why I depend on the pension index record, obituaries, cemetery information,
old county histories and then try to find the right family in the census.
But sometimes the census is all I have to go on.
I really try hard to find enough information to be sure of the identification.
I am always in the process of adding information, so what
you see is a work in progress and may not be a final conclusion
for the ID of the soldier. Look over the "evidence"
and decide for yourself. Revisit the site to see if more has
been added about any soldier that interests you. So far I
have found two distant relatives that I had no idea would be included
in this group of soldiers. It is not my intention here to give a genealogy of
each soldier, but to establish just who he was and where he went after
the war if he survived. Let me know if you have additions or corrections.
If you have a webpage about the soldier's family, I will be glad to add
a link here. Not all the information
here is from primary sources, but some of it is. Use the information
you find on the internet as a clue and then back it up with primary sources.
