? UNKNOWN PHOTOS ? - Page 1

Here are some photos of unidentified people in our family.  Some may have one or two people we can identify but do not know the others.  Any known information regarding the photos will accompany the picture.  Maybe YOU will recognize a person or place!

The following pictures were sent to us by Irene (ASSMUS) GARDNER- a HOHNEKE Cousin-daughter of Dora HOHNEKE who was a half-sister of Theodore Herman HOHNEKE and daughter of August HOHNEKE and Ida HOEFS.  They were given to her to pass on to HOHNEKE family. 

We recognize HOHNEKES, LENSERS and SELLES in some of these pictures but would love to find out who the UNKNOWNS are!

1. Front and Back (Grandmother with Otto and Paul)

2.  Who is the fellow with the white handlebar mustache??-The Lady in black must be his wife!?

3. August HOHNEKE and _____? (same fellow as in picture #2 above!)SELLES?/LENSERS?  logging (probably in WISCONSIN)

4.  The following is NOT our "Ted" HOHNEKE (Theodore Frank HOHNEKE) and wife.  WHO ARE THEY? 

5.  Could this be a LENSER Family (siblings?) reunion?? The gals on the bottom step look like sisters!

6.  Same LENSER? Family Reunion as Above #5!

7.  Hiking??

8.  What was written on the back of this photo is at the bottom of this picture of _____??? with a great Salmon catch!  This same man is in pictures #2 and #3 on this page.  Is he a LENSER? or a HOHNEKE?  And what does it say (GENOMEN?)along with the date: Jan 2, 1921 (doesn't look that cold a winter!)

9.  SELLES- More fish being caught.  Pretty sure of William August SELLE and son Carl SELLE maybe in WI?

10.  The woman dressed in black is the same woman as in photo #1 and #2!  Looks like they're ready to do more fishing!  Is that the Mississippi on the WI and MN border where the SELLES and LENSERS lived?
