2000-Denton ORDE-Author of RAWDING-RHODDY-RODDY FAMILY LINES

Written by Denton ORDE for the back of his book:  RAWDING-RHODDY-RODDY FAMILY LINES

This picture was sent to us by Denton ORDE - Taken in Clementsport, Annapolis County, Nova Scotia it shows the RAWDING-POTTER Store. Mrs. and Mrs. Stephen B. RIDER of West Haven, Connecticut, visitors to the area,  are in a horse and buggy.  Here is the note that Denton ORDE sent us along with this picture:

Regarding the folks in this picture:  Stephen Bull RIDER b. 19 Jan 1861 in Mountainville, Orange County, New York with his second wife: Hannah Marie FERRIS b. Sep 1871 in Fairfield, Connecticut-married 5 Jun 1904.  In 1930 they were living on Third Ave. in West Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut.  Stephen had been a farmer but was listed as no occupation for quite a few years.  Neither had family from Nova Scotia that I could find so they must have just been tourists vacationing in Clementsport, Annapolis County, Nova Scotia in 1930.  Stephen died on 9 Mar 1931 so this picture must have been taken in 1930.
