The LENSER (LOENSER) (LENAUE) Descendancy as we have it so far, begins with the Michael LENSER (LOENSER) (LENZER) (LENAUE) who died at age 92 in Czersk, West Preussen, Germany. He was born in Alsace-Lorraine, France or Czersk, Germany. Michael married Eva SEELING (SELLIG) (SELIG) before 1835. Eva was born in Germany and died in Hadar, Pierce County, Nebraska. They had (9) nine children that we know of: 4 boys and 5 girls many of whom came to the U.S.
Our LENSER/LENZER/LOENSER connections doubly descend from two of their sons: (1) Johann Gustav LOENSER born about 1840 and christened on 6 Jan 1841 in Schwetz Graudenz, Westpreussen. Preussen. He died in 1920 in Wayne County, Nebraska having immigrated with his wife Justina 'Wilhelmina"and family in 1875. And (2) Carl (Karl) Julius LOENSER (LENSER) born on 14 May 1843 in Berlin, Germany and christened on 28 May 1843 in Schwetz Graudenz, Westpreussen, Preussen. He died on 7 Aug 1896 in Stanton, Stanton County, Nebraska.
(1) Johann (or John)'s daughter Fredelena "Lena" LENSER (LENZER) became August HOHNEKE's second wife when she married him on 22 Apr 1889.
(2)Carl (Karl) LENSER (LENZER) immigrated from Bremen through the port of New York with his family in 1876. His daughter Amanda LENZER (LENSER) married Wilhelm "William" August SELLE on 5 Sep 1886.
The son of August and "Lena" (LENSER/LENZER) HOHNEKE, Theodore Herman HOHNEKE, and the daughter of William and Amanda (LENSER/LENZER) SELLE, Henrietta Martha Helen SELLE, married on 1 Aug 1919 and were Bob HOHNEKE's paternal grandparents. Fredelena "Lena" and Amanda LENSER (LENSER) were first cousins and are both his great-grandmothers on his father's side. He called Lena: "Grandma HOHNEKE" and Amanda: "Grandma SELLE".
LENSER (LENZER) (LOENSER) cousins, Fran LOENSER and Joyce MCDONALD have both contributed much to the gathering of the LENSER (LENZER) (LOENSER) Line and we are grateful to them for sharing their research with us. We hope that many more of the descendants of Michael will come forward and let us know of their families!
