Lani in Seattle - I have been trying for years to find my great grandfather. He is the missing link. He is named as my great grand mothers husband on her death cert. and on my grand fathers baptism cert. he is listed as Robert Hogg born in Scotland. On the baptism cert. he is named as Robert Percy Hogg. Of the two nephews of JAMES HOGG that came to the US there were two sons named Robert. One is accounted for but the other is not. I'm thinking that he may have headed up
to Canada to join relatives in Galt Ont. during the Civil War. Found and married Margaret Carruthers then moved to Manitoba. My grand father was born in l881 in Winnipeg. His father ROBERT P. HOGG, was supposed to have died between l881 and l885. It is said he filled a drunkards grave. I have had researchers look into the Manitoba cemeteries so far nothing. The family ended up living in Oakland Manitoba, just north of Portage LaPrairie on a wheat ranch. I hope that maybe someone out there has just a little clue for me.
