Introduction to Photo Album

Gail Cornell needs your help identifying 2 albums of old photographs. The albums were given to Gail by Yvonne Barton daughter of Doris Mabel Cornell. Doris was the great granddaughter of Henry Cornell (1799-1873) and Jane Hockley (1803-1886) of Thaxted, Essex, England. We follow this line through their son John Peter Cornell (1842-1878) and through his son Henry William Cornell (1873-1926). Family names associated with this family are: Frye, Tredgett, Lohmann, Pearce, Portway, and Josling.

Lydia Cornell married William Frye. They seem to have been quite well off and having no children of their own became a hub for this branch of the family. All the pictures in the photo albums center around the homes of Lydia Frye and date from between 1885 and 1905 (as far as I can work out). Unfortunately only one of them has anything written on it and there is no one alive in my family now who knows who any of them (bar 3) are. I am hoping there is another descendent out there who might have some identified picture I could compare with.
