A recent contact from someone searching the Babcock family prompted me to build this page as an attempt to assist some other Babcock descendants to locate verification of a connection with our ancestor, David Babcock who was born in 1779, to Mercy Spooner who is a direct descendant of Richard Warren, a Mayflower passenger. Mercy was married to David Badcock, born in 1759 in Dartmouth, MA, and it has long been an assumption that the David Babcock who was born in 1779 (probably in Somerset, VT) was their son.

In returning to another contact I had regarding the above connection there appears to be some question about whether or not Silence Babcock was the daughter of David Babcock (b. 1779) and Sara (Unknown). I am currently checking with my source for this connection to see if there is any proof positive information on this as well.

I am pursuing this now because these researchers are getting older and it would be so wonderful to solve this puzzle for them after so many years of searching.
