Co-Administrator- Sherrie Boone
Pedigree Policy: Each participant has been asked to submit his own pedigree and all effort is being made to present the pedigrees as received. As one would expect, this administrator will not alter any pedigree. However, I may add notes or comments (before, within or after a pedigree chart) in parenthesis and signed, i.e. (“HJ or LJ”). Whether short or long, famous or not, each pedigree is of equal importance in trying to solve the problems of genealogical research where records have been lost or have not existed.

Additional info: -Our main goal is to try to
establish who might be the father of Jonathan Johnson, who presumably died in
Surry Co. NC about 1799. (We believe his name was Robert, based on estate
records.) The other goal is to try to
establish a connection to other Knox Co. Johnson families as well as nearby Blount
Co. Johnson families. We strongly believe the Blount Co. Johnsons may tie in
with the Yadkin River Surry Co./ Stokes/ Wilkes Co. NC Johnsons, but have only
circumstantial evidence of that.
The other Johnsons in Knox Co. presumably descended from a Bedford Co., Rev. William Johnson, who was a preacher for a time at Boyd’s Creek where Jonathan Johnson lived and died. (Now part of Knox Co. TN) I strongly suspect a connection to Rev. Wm., but nothing is documented to date.
