About This Library

DNA is a wonderful new tool for the genealogist, but it will not ever replace good old-fashioned research. This J/J/J Library has came about to try to aid folks in their research. A great many lines are matches, even up to 37 markers, but they haven’t found common ancestors to link their pedigrees. We are posting documentation from folks’ research, in the hopes of helping you find that common link.

This Library of Research site contains information on many families of Johnson, Johnston, Johnstone’s and associated families of Australia, New Zealand & the USA. The information provided comes from a great many researchers all across the World. As you search through and locate information, we ask that you check the source, as you always should.

When we originally started this research site, its mission was to post information on the Johnson Families’ of Colonial VA. Since then, we have added not only additional States, but Countries!!

As more information presents itself, we may expand to more States and Countries in the future. If you would like to volunteer to be a compiler of a specific State, or Country, for this site that is not listed, please email Tony with your request.

Files for the Countries of New Zealand & Australia will be listed by city. As more information presents itself, they may be broken down by region at a later point.

Files will be listed for each U.S. State that we have information on, with said State’s name listed on the file. You can enter the States Research Page by clicking on their file. Please note that before contacting any States library representative with questions, first please check the source of the documentation. The representative for each State will be listed under the name of the State.
