Additional info: Joshua Johnson, Sr could have been born in either VA or NC. I believe I have him on the 1790 and 1800 census in Duplin/Sampson Co., NC. At least there is a Joshua Johnson listed on them. He moved to Horry Co., SC and died there between 1810 and 1820. His son Joshua, Jr. is listed on the 1820 census there. Then Joshua, Jr and most of his brother moved to Bibb Co., GA sometime between 1820 and 1830. In 1850 Joshua, Jr. is living in Baker Co., GA with his son William P. Johnson.(JRJ)

Additional info (Kit # 163555): As per direct conversation with a great aunt Nancy Jane Johnson (Alice), also known as Alice Goodwin, I am certain of this data   back to Moses Johnson; reportedly a brother of Jacob Johnson, the father of President Andrew Johnson. Nick Johnson, son of Moses, was a member of the “bridge-burner’s” in The Civil War. Do not know what happened to Nick, he set-out to go through the lines north-west.  Their place was burned by the Rebel Army. My Grandfather, Andrew J. Johnson, the oldest male child, under the direction of his mother Mary Ann and the aid of the other children rebuilt the place.  The information as to Moses’s ancestors came through Carman Johnson.

She married Christopher Gibson in Armagh (do not know if this meant the county or the town) in Northern Ireland about 1833. They had at least three children in Armagh in Northern Ireland before coming to Canada by 1842 or 1843, when their son Christopher Gibson was born in Ontario. Their known NI-born children were Ellen Gibson (born 1834 or 1835), Thomas Gibson (born 31 May 1837), and James Gibson (born Armagh 1839 or 1840).
